Campbell Hausfeld HS5180 80-Gallon Compressor
Campbell Hausfield is one of the bigger names as far as compressor manufacturers are concerned. Tts many features still make it a great buy.
What is its best feature? That would have to be its great two Stage compressor. Two speed compressors are the best for supplying continuous compressed air flow without lag. It also features a powerful 5 horsepower pump that creates a very generous
amount of cubic feet per minute of air flow. It is another compressor on our list that runs quieter than you would expect for the power it has.

One of the more unique features it has is an oil sight glass that lets you see the oil level in the reservoir without getting all grimy. This is a bit more expensive than most, but it has all the features you would want in a top of the line compressor. This excellent model will not only work great when you are using your air tools but it will last well into the future the way it’s solidly built too.
Its big 7.5 horsepower motor will generate over 600 rpm on the air pump motor. That means with its 175 max psi it can power just about any air tool that you can think of.

Air Compressor Buying Tips
• Make sure the compressors CFM is an accurate reflection of its Air Cubic Feet per Minute (ACFM) of air movement – be careful here because sometimes a compressors CFM is not representative of its true air movement capacity. Before purchasing a unit you have to make sure you know both of these numbers and they should be similar.
• Horsepower – Pay attention to the horsepower a compressor has. Does horsepower make a difference? You bet and you need to pay attention to it when shopping for an air compressor. The more horsepower the more compressed air that compressor unit is able to make. It also has to be considered because you can have too much horsepower for your air reservoir tank size and that can be dangerous.

Look for their description to include such things as cast iron body, stainless steel valves and if they include an oil gauge; these things are usually indicative of a compressor that will last you a long time.
• Know your voltage – you have to consider the voltage available at the place where you will use your air compressor. Standard 100 volt electrical outlets will only support machines that are 3 horsepower or less.
